 | Resonance is a Caribbean/Jazz quintet I co-founded and have performed with for seven years as a steel drummer and percussionist. Our unique brand of internationally-inspired music blends the sounds of Trinidadian Calypso and Soca, African drumming, Brazilian Bossa Nova and Samba, Jamaican Reggae, and American Funk and Soul. Resonance has thrived in the music scene of southwestern PA, performing at the University of Pittsburgh, West Virginia University, Slippery Rock University, University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, the Clarion University Autumn Leaf Festival, the Community College of Allegheny County, and the Andy Warhol Museum. This year has been a particularly productive year for the ensemble, with notable touring performances at Musikfest in Bethlehem, PA, the Mid Ohio Valley Multi Cultural Festival in Parkersburg, WV, and at Potomac State College in Maryland. | We also believe that a big part of creating music and sharing an art form is education. Each year we reach thousands of students with our assembly programs Caribbean Traditions, which traces steel drum music from its African roots to the present, and A Passport to Rhythm, which takes students to many cultures around the world using percussion and drumming music as a basis for discussion. Recently, Resonance has been awarded the Stanier Arts award for the International Children's Festival for our new show Harmony Street. The show will be a live stage production for children which will combine story telling, music, dance, audience participation and multimedia images. We also offer a variety of master classes, clinics and residencies in steel drums, hand drumming and jazz. |

 | After a year of hard work our first CD is finally completed! Our first of two CD release events was a success and we received favorable reviews from the Pittsburgh City Paper. Resonance, our self-titled CD, took a long time to complete, but we are all very satisfied with the product.
